Romance Trailer - The Notebook

This romantic film opens with calm loving music with two people sailing on a boat in a beautiful river. the Non-digetic sound is heard straight away setting the scene. the shot in the first pictures are aimed looking down at the lake where the two people are. This could portray a love interest. There is a narative over the pictures of a man telling the story of how these two people met. When you get further into the trailer you see that there is another man who this girl meets, they get engaged, but she meets with him seeing him in the newspaper. There is obviously love between these two people and they end up being together as you see them dancing at the last cut, finishing on the title - The Notebook.

You see the main characters in the opening scene he is sitting down writing some sort or diary, you soon see a woman looking very happy smiling, this could mean that she is part of the love relationship in this film. At the carnival you see this man showing his love for this girl going to any extent to make her go out with him, even meaning to the point of death. The shots shown in this mainly show the man with a close up shot and the woman and a man next to her of a double close up shot, but the man is turned away most of the time meaning that he is less significant than the woman.

The sound heard in this is mainly Non-Digetic you hear calm music which sets you in the mood of 'love' during the whole trailer. There is some Digetic sounds for example the splashing of water would be a Digetic sound and the sound of planes, during the war time. This sets the setting that it is in the 1940's. There is also more Digetic sounds of car engines and explosions in the war scenes. The Non-Digetic sound goes on through the whole of the trailer and stops when the Narrator says the title The Notebook.

The target audience this would be aimed at would be more sided towards the ages of 20-30, woman as these ages want to feel the connections and hope they would have this love relationship or even to go watch it with their boyfriend to feel that love between them.
