Romance Cliche's/Codes and conventions
Cliches of romance:
1. Kissing in the rain.
2. After you and the love of your life get into a fight and one of you is about to move to a different country, the other one runs through the airport last minute, professes their love, and live happily every after.
3. The girl manages to go from butt ugly to gorgeous.
4. Coincidental bumping into each other.
5. The girl becomes gorgeous.
Romance target audience:
The typical target audience for a romance film would be aimed at woman who are around the ages of 30-40 and they want to feel that connection with the character about love as they may either be in love themselfs or wishing for love. These kind of films also may be aimed at couples who are in love and want to maybe see how their relationship wants to end, either in marriage or love.
Codes and conventions:
An example of a typical convention of a romance film would be a normally good looking well know listed actor, he would play the main role of the male in this film. Another example of a convention would be 'boy meets girl' this is very typical in a romance film, viewers enjoy seeing happy endings at the end of a film, where they either both get married or fall in love. its normally set in a well known city such as New York and a realistic setting.

Romance film can be defined as a genre wherein the plot revolves around the love between two protagonists.
