What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Our film would be a relatively low budget horror film which would have appealed to a broad international audience.  Horror films are relatively low risk films to make as there is a very loyal target audience and a film with a small budget can make a large return, which isn't always the case for films that don't cost a huge amount to make, like dramas.

This film was very successful due to the fact of the wide audience which horror films would appeal to, horror films attracts teenagers and young adults. The company Lionsgate is a very successful and well known production company who has produced many successful films such as Repentance, You're next and The quiet ones. These films were very low budget and made a large profit due to the fact of the production company as they distribute their films to a wide audience.

Lionsgate is a production and distribution company which might have made and funded our production.  One of their recently successful films in the same genre was Saw 3.  This film cost $10 million with a box office revenue of $164,874,275.
